Regional Groups

Regional Steering Groups

Arising from the provisions of the Framework, in each of the eight Major Emergency Management regions (shown on the map below), a Regional Steering Group (RSG) on Major Emergency Management was formed, comprising senior personnel from the Principal Response Agencies within that region. Those who undertake the role of chairing (and providing administrative support for) their RSGs are listed in the table below.

Regional Working Group

The Framework provided that Regional Working Groups (RWGs) were to be formed to support the Regional Steering Groups and to undertake the functions assigned at regional level. Arrangements for the operation of the Regional Working Groups are set out in the Framework. The RWGs have been established and are operating in the eight regions.
